Tasty cake with grapes

Products:
300-400 g puff pastry
Some bunches of grapes
One package of gelatin
Powdered sugar

Spread the pastry in a tarta form, coated with butter. Make holes in it with fork. Bake it in the oven up to 200-250 degrees for 15 minutes. Take it out of the oven and leave it to cool down. Dust the end with sugar. Water the grapes and dry it. Arrange the grapes on the top of the pastry. Cover it with the ready gelatin. Leave the dessert in the fridge until the gelatin tightens up.

easy and healthy with broccoli and cheese

Broccoli with different kinds of cheese
I used:
750 g broccoli
750 g cauliflower
White Cheese
processed  cheese
Blue cheese (Roqueforte)
Smoked cheese
Grated yellow cheese



 I boiled water and put the broccoli in the pot to boil for 3-4 minutes. After that I took it out and put the cauliflower to boil for 4 minutes. In coated pan I putted the broccoli and a little bit of each kind of cheese. I didn’t have much blue cheese and put more from the white one. Then,  I placed another layer of the cauliflower and the rest of the cheese. At the end, I put the pan in the oven and baked it for 20 minutes. 5 minutes before it was ready, I took the dish, added some grated yellow cheese on top of it and returned it back in the oven. The dish can be served with peper salad (peppers,parsley and vinegar)
   The supper turned out amazing and I’m thinking of doing it again some day J

My muffins

Lemon muffins with white chocolate

1 lemon
3 eggs
300 g sugar
100 g oil
280 g flour
1 ½ tablespoon of baking powder
200 g sour cream
80 g white chocolate

  Butter forms for muffins. Heat up the oven to 200 degree. Grate the lemon peel and squeeze the lemon. Combine the eggs with the sugar and beat up until fluffy. Add the oil, the lemon juice and the peel. Stir everything.
 Sift the flour and the baking powder and put it in the egg mixture. Stir with hand. After that add the sour cream and stir again. Cut the chocolate into small cubes. Put 1 spoon of the dough in the forms, after that put a chocolate cube and dough again. Bake about 20-25 minutes.




  I did my muffins in different way. I didn’t put the lemon peel because I don’t like it. And I didn’t have white chocolate and used normal one. I had flour which raises itself so I used it and didn’t put baking powder. My muffin forms were very small so I made a lot of the dessert. It was simply delicious.

Cooking with friends

My friends and I cooked some dishes the day before. We made two salads, one main course and one dessert.

the salads
 The first one was Mexican salad. We had the recipe but my friend who did it put a lot of everything. Instead of one pickled cucumber he put a whole jar. He also put much cooked corn, red beans, peppers, hot peppers, ham, mayonnaise and savory. He could hardly stir the dish because the plate was overfilled.


The second salad was red and green peppers and onions. We combined the peppers, the onion and vinegar. For decoration we put one hot pepper chopped up as a parting in the middle.

The main course
      The main course was the vegetarian lasagna. I have already posted the recipe for the lasagna- you can see it somewhere below on the page. Here are some photos from this one ;)



 The dessert

It was a chocolate soufflé. I’ll write the recipe.
Products:
200 g black chocolate
200 g butter
7 eggs
270 g sugar
125 g flour
50 g cocoa
Heat the oven up to 225 degrees. Cut the chocolate in pieces and melt it with the butter over hot water bath. Mix the eggs with the sugar until they look like foam. Add the chocolate mixture, the flour and the cocoa. Coat 8 plates with butter, fill them with the dough and bake. Serve the dessert cooled.

apple pie

Products:
¾ teacup of melted butter
1 teacup of sugar
3 eggs
3-4 apples
2 teacups of flour
50 g raisins
1 pocket baking powder
1 coffee spoon of cinnamon
Lemons
1 teacup of wine
Salt
½ pocket biscuits
powdered sugar

 Wash the raisins and add them into the wine. Crack the biscuits to smash them to dust. Peel off the apples, grate them, squeeze half of the lemon and mix it with the apples . Mix the eggs with the sugar, add the butter, the peeled apples, the biscuits, the grated lemon peel, the salt and the cinnamon. In the end add the flour with the baking powder and the raisins. Put the mixture in buttered baking dish and bake it 20-30 minutes. Take the cake out, leave it to cool down. After that put it in big plate and powder it.




 I made this dessert yesterday morning. When I made the mixture I realized I have forgotten to put the biscuits and put them in the end. I didn’t put a lemon peel because I don’t like it. The pie turned out to be tasty J

Potato boats

Products:
 4 big potatoes
300 g yellow cheese
1 egg
50 g butter
3 tablespoons yoghurt
Pepper
Salt

  Boil the potatoes, cut them in half along their length and carve their inner part out. After that,  fill them with the mixture of the grated yellow cheese, the egg, the yoghurt, the pepper and the salt. Place them in pot coated with butter and roast them until they turn red.

Yesterday evening I had unexpected guests and had to make fast something delicious, so I decided to prepare this dish. After boiling the potatoes I didn’t peel them. In the filling I put 2 eggs and more yoghurt because I used more potatoes as I couldn’t find big ones. (so I chose smaller but more). On top of each potato I put some corn and peas. The food turned to be amazing. J

Vegetarian lasagna

Products:
 4 tablespoons of olive oil
500 g yellow cheese
300 g olives
250 g processed cheese
1 packet sheets of pastry for lasagna
800 g peeled tomatoes, strained
500 g mushrooms
Parsley, thyme, savory, salt

  1. cut and bone the olives. Grate the yellow cheese
  2. put the tomatoes in a pot to boil up. Add the flavouring and 1 of tablespoon sugar.
  3. put the water to boil up, then put olive oil, salt and the sheets of pastry for 3-4 minutes. Cut the mushrooms and fry it with pepper and salt.
  4. in baking dish pour out part of the tomatoe sauce. After that lay some sheets of pastry , yellow cheese, olives, tomato sauce on top of it and then again sheets, mushrooms, processed cheese and that until the ingredients finish.
  5. on top put tomato sauce on and bake it in heated oven
  6. minutes before the lasagna is ready, grate yellow cheese on it. Then bake it again until it becomes soft.

I made this lasagna for dinner. I didn’t boil the sheets, though, because on the label of its package, it was written “ no boiling” ;) When I was frying the mushrooms I putted much pepper…  :D . The tomato sauce that I made wasn’t enough so I had to make more. Also, I forgot to put sugar in the sauce. But when I took it out of the oven it smelled very good and looked delicious J





Small home-grown melon

  I want to show a melon from my garden. It’s very small, not usual that’s why I will publish some photos of it. When I tasted the melon it wasn’t so sweet like the ones from the shops but wasn’t so bad J







Mini cakes “Sacher”



Products:
 275 g black chocolate
125 g butter
125 g sugar
1 pocket vanilla
4 eggs
60 g farina
60 g flour
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
150 g apricot jam
75 ml whipped cream


   Cut 125 g chocolate into uniform pieces and melt it over hot-water bath. In the meantime, heat the oven up to 175 degrees.
   Mix the butter with the sugar and the vanilla until it becomes foam. Add the eggs one by one, the melted chocolate, the flour, the farina, the cocoa, and the baking powder. Mix 2 minutes with mixer on high speed.
  Divide the dough equally in baking dish that was spread with butter and bake it for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and put it aside to cool down. Cut with round form 27 circles. Coat each of them with the jam and place every 3 of them on top of each other. In that way, you will have 9 small cakes. After that, coat them sidelong with jam.
   Melt the remaining chocolate on hot-water bath and leave it to cool down. Then pour the chocolate glaze on top of the dessert .
   On top of the each cake write the letter “S” with the whipped cream.

         P.S. You can serve the sweet with Viennese coffee.


In the morning I decided to make this mini Sacher cakes. I had a good start, but when I baked my dough it became hard and it was tough to make the circles, some of them got broken. I had an opened jar of blueberry Jam and used it. It wasn’t enough so I bought apricot jam and continued with it.
In the end I couldn’t shape the “S” letter with the whipped cream, but it looked beautiful. When I tasted it appeared to be VERY VERY  sweet and delicious.

Doughnut with prunes and vanilla cream

The Prunes doughnuts recipe:
for the dough:
20 g fresh  yeast
60 g sugar
250ml fresh milk
120 g butter
2 eggs
400 gr flour
2 tablespoons cocoa
salt
8 prunes from stewed fruit or fresh one2 tablespoons cocoa
for the cream:
2 yolks of egg
4 tablespoons of sugar
1 pod of vanilla
500 ml fresh milk
2 teaspoons farina
2 teaspoons powdered sugar for the surface

Mix together 1 tablespoon of sugar , 3 tablespoons of cool milk and the yeast in a large boul for some minutes, cover it and leave it in warm place.
Melt 80g of butter in small saucepan and set it aside. beat he eggs and add the risen yeast,the flour, the cocoa, the remaining sugar, pinch of salt and the melted butter. Add as much milk as needed for the dough to be medium hard . Stir the dough with wooden spoon until it gets smooth and makes bubles. Cover it up and set it in a warm place to rise.
  Melt the remaining butter. The dough must be devided into 8 pieces. Each piece should be flattened with hands and in the middle have to be putted one prune.  The dough  should be bend. Slide the doughnuts in the melted butter and put them in a baking dish. Cover them for 30 minutes to rise.
   Heat the oven to 175 degrees C. Bake the doughnuts on the lower row of the oven  30 minutes. After that turn off the oven and leave the sweets in it for 5-10 minutes.

    The cream:


 Mix the yolks and the sugar until they become foam. Put the milk, the farina, and the vanila in a pot. Stir it over medium heat until it boils down.

Take the doughnut out and powder it. Serve it warm with the vanilla cream.




    Yesterday I cooked this dessert but instead of making small doughnuts … it became a hole cake (one huge doughnut). I put a little too much milk in the dough and it became sticky and softy. And I think I have chosen the wrong plate to make the cake … the utensil turned little   and the sweet rose much more than I expected but nothing fatal happened. The vanilla cream  turned out to be very delicious I think although I put vanilla from a pocket not from a pod …



    But in the end, I got satisfaction  because my big “doughnut” was tasty and everybody enjoyed it. J
